Community Initiatives

Sydney Wildlife World is committed to providing education and support to the community about Australia’s unique terrestrial environments and the plant and animal life they support.

There are many problems facing our native wildlife, most significantly loss of habitat through land clearing and changes in fire patterns, and the introduction of non-native animals. Other introduced animals compete with native animals for food, or damage habitat with their hooves and eating habits.

The partnership established between Sydney Wildlife World and the Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) is one that aims to arrest some of these problems through fundraising activity such as animal sponsorships, the proceeds of which are passed to the AWC to suport their sanctuaries across Australia. Education Programs

Through its school and public education programs and the use of informative graphics throughout the exhibit areas, Sydney Wildlife World hopes to inform and inspire in the community a desire to protect and conserve native habitats and their inhabitants for the future.

Although not a research facility, Sydney Wildlife World offers tertiary students a work experience program during which they can gain valuable animal husbandry and zoo-keeping experience to enhance their studies.

Community Responsibilities

Sydney Wildlife World has a strong commitment to ensure that the disadvantaged within the community have access to the recreational and educational facilities of this spectacular attraction. This is achieved through the company’s excellent relationships with major charities and the establishment of a number of special offers for their clients. Sydney Wildlife World also recognises the charitable and community based projects undertaken by thousands of ordinary Australians and rewards their endeavours.
